We set out to explore hidden connections in medicine, and ended up finding a new way of understanding medicine.

How did we do this?

Through deliberate and comprehensive review of thousands of topics in medicine, we identified several hundred building blocks that cohesively hold together the foundation of medical knowledge.

We combed through content outlines of USMLE exams, reread most high yield textbooks used by medical students, and consulted expert clinicians who share our passion for medical education.

Why did we do this?

From preclinical lectures to Step 1 and 2 exams to rounds, as medical students, we are inundated with information nonstop. Whether grinding through Anki decks, clicking through powerpoint slides, or getting crushed by a new set of UWorld questions, we all have developed our favorite methods for acquiring medical knowledge.

The culture of medical education can be relentless in its pursuit of imparting a phenomenal amount of knowledge in a short period of time. But at what cost? Our wellness suffers. We compromise building camaraderie among peers and nurturing deep connections. Somewhere along the way, we forget the inner playfulness we all once had. Bringing gameplay into medical education is our antidote to the collateral damage inflicted by the rigor of our training.

What's our vision?

By bringing together learners to work together to create connections across a multitude of medical concepts, we aim to enable them to become better team players and communicators. We strive to equip them with the tools to deepen their understanding of medicine. Our gameplay reveals the interconnectedness of clinical concepts that underscores clinical reasoning. It captures the moments when studying becomes learning and enables learners to benefit from the perspective of their peers.

Medicine is a team effort and there is no reason learning has to happen in isolation. Learners can draw knowledge from each other’s unique strengths while enjoying the process. We ultimately seek to make a difference in the way medical students and their educators experience medical education.
